A Poddershed Moment

I'd been thinking I'd try to describe why I feel like the video iPod changes everything. Then I saw this Reuters story. It sorta kinda begins to scratch the surface. (Though I'd be more likely to suffer the social embarrassment of someone catching sight of the Baby Einstein stashed on mine than the porn we're all supposedly going to have.) I think it's a very big deal that Apple has made it easy to get video subscriptions deposited automatically and directly onto something that comes with you everywhere and can output with considerable ease to a TV or other device. The ease and convenience factors stand to make Web video a standard part of the lives of the only marginally geeky, and eventually the completely non-geeky. That has enormous ramifications for old and new media.
