Its so interesting when consider the net neutrality/ speed lane- slow lane metaphor. In 1950's where the interstate highway projects were being built; the existing road infrastructure was largely abandoned because of state and local budget priorities. The point I am trying to make is that very lack of conviction to maintain is one the primary reason that United States is having the massive infrastructural failure (bridges roads and safety features ) today.
The takeaway is net neutrality benefits us all because it forces the ISP's, content providers and concerned parties (ie. everyone) to advance and maintain technical so it is all viable for the commons. It all comes down to economics. Should the road left available to the commons to the "have-nots" while the speed lines are going to be maintained and improved because the "haves "will demand it. All I can say is that it will be interesting as to how it comes down.
